A journey through the history of the city and watchmaking on a watch and guided tour in Geneva.

Geneva Guided Visit

Geneva is much more than its iconic Jet d’Eau. Nestled on the shores of Lake Geneva, the city boasts a stunning setting, a rich and complex history, delicious Swiss cuisine, and world-renowned watchmaking expertise.

During this exclusive day tour, enjoy an intimate exploration of Geneva’s Old Town alongside a passionate guide. Once under Roman, Burgundian, Frankish, and Savoyard rule, Geneva has long been a crossroads of trade and ideas. Its vibrant past is reflected in its architecture, from medieval and Gothic remnants to elegant 19th-century bourgeois influences.

As you wander through cobbled streets and hidden passageways, the city’s history unfolds before you—at Saint Peter’s Cathedral, the Bourg-de-Four square, the Gothic-style Tavel House, the Reformation Wall, the Grand Théâtre, and the Bergues Bridge. Where the Rhône flows into the lake, the towering Jet d’Eau rises into the sky, with the Mont Blanc massif as a breathtaking backdrop. A majestic setting for a city of timeless elegance.

Lunch in Geneva

Your exploration of Geneva continues at lunchtime with a delicious break in one of the city’s local restaurants. Geneva’s culinary scene is full of flavorful surprises. Treat yourself to one of its traditional specialties: tender longeole sausage, creamy cardoons, pork fricassée, Geneva-style Arctic char, rich fondue, Vaud-style sausage, the famous “gratinée des Vieux Cabinotiers,” tomme vaudoise cheese, or a sweet pear rissole… A true feast awaits you!

I used the services of 1786 Experiences for a group of 27 people who were able to discover the center of Annecy during a Food Tour on 09/30/2023. The group was delighted, the 3 guides were highly appreciated, and the tastings were of high quality. A perfect experience! I highly recommend them.

We had an outstanding day with Alban beginning with the two gondola rides to view Mont Blanc. He was especially attentive to my wife’s recent knee injury and tailored our day appropriately. We then took the scenic train ride to the historic ice cave. He brought us his homemade orange bread and had gloves for us when we outside waiting for the clouds to clear to give us a perfect view of Mont Blanc. He was not only attentive but very knowledgeable. We never enjoyed climb steps so much because the scenery and commentary were just perfect.
